About Us

Sparkling City Chorus is an awarding chapter of Sweet Adelines International. We are a women's a cappella chorus that presents unique entertainment experiences to the Coastal Bend area of South Texas. The chorus, directed by Jerrie Johns, is comprised of 30+ women who love to perform and sing barbershop harmony.

What We Do

This Corpus Christi, TX chapter of the Sweet Adelines International offers performances for the public, sings as a community service for several local organizations and city functions, and works for the advancement of barbershop 4-part harmony for women.

Each February 14th, the chorus offers Valentine 'Sing-a-Grams'. Anyone my order this gift for a loved one. We sing just about any where: business offices, churches, homes, and restaurants all over the community. A quartet will bring this lovely surprise to anyone's special someone. The chorus gives back to the community by performing in nursing homes and hospitals at Christmas, by donating gifts and entertainment to youth services in the community, and by helping with the local PBS fund drives.

Our ongoing activities include:

• Entertain groups at homes, business parties; large and small
  (reasonable rates) with full chorus or a quartet.
• Valentine Sing-A-Grams:
• Region 10 Competition: Held in the Spring of Each Year
• Annual Show: this is a quality, Broadway style performance - 2008 February 9 at the Harbour Playhouse. Check back for details.
• Christmas Caroling: visiting local nursing and retirement homes and
  at the mall, the County Courthouse, and the Galvan House (Heritage Park).
